Once you start using essential oils, you’ll start to find yourself purchasing other much-needed supplies – for your own essential oil blends, diffusing, travel, and more. There are lots of things you could buy – the items below are my ‘top 12’ – the things I’d put at the top of my essential oils accessories shopping list.
First Step Essential Oil Accessories
If you’re just getting started with essential oils and want to stock your cupboard, these items should be at the top of your shopping list. You definitely need a diffuser, roller bottles for making your own essential oil blends, and a reference guide. If you don’t purchase anything else, get those three things! (FYI – affiliate links below!)
Ultrasonic Diffuser – the best and easiest way to start using essential oils. Freshen your home and clear out the airborne allergens and bacteria with your diffuser and favorite essential oils.
Storage Rack – I’ve tried a few different methods for storing oils and I still love a nice storage shelf where I can see all my oils at a glance.
Roll-on Bottles – when you’re ready to tackle making some essential oil blends you’ll want some roller-top bottles to use them quickly and easily.
Diffuser Necklace – I love diffuser jewelry! Enjoy the scent of your favorite oils wherever you go.
Reference guide – a must for finding an oil for every need. It’s the first thing I grab when I need to do a bit of research.
Cleaning with Essential Oils
After you’ve gained some experience using your essential oils, and you’re ready to start making some DIY cleaning supplies, you’ll want these items on-hand for quick and easy projects.
Spray bottles – to hold all those cleaning concoctions you’re going to make! You’ll need dark amber or blue glass bottles (the dark bottles protect your oils and glass ensures your citrus oils won’t ‘eat’ through the material like they would a plastic bottle).
Dispersants – essential oils and water don’t mix. If you’ve ever added a drop to a glass of water you’ve probably noticed that the oil just floats on the top. You need to add something to help the oil disperse through the water in your homemade cleaning products. A few ways you can do this for homemade cleaning supplies: witch hazel, aloe vera juice, baking soda, or castile soap.
Wool dryer balls – toss the dryer sheets and get a few of these! They are so much more cost effective and safer.
Traveling with Essential Oils
And don’t forget travel stuff! A car diffuser, a small bag for an emergency stash in my purse, and a larger travel-sized bag are must-have’s for me. I also love having another small diffuser to take on vacation – it’s so nice to get that hotel smelling fresh and clean.
Car diffuser – perfect for those long car rides.
Portable diffuser – make your hotel room smell more like home!
