Traveling with Essential Oils: What to Keep in Your Essential Oil Travel Bag

My little bag of essential oils is usually the first thing I pack when we're getting ready to travel - long trips, short trips, overnight trips, even day trips - I make sure the oils are packed! I've replaced many of my usual travel items with my essential oils. Here's what you need when you're traveling with essential oils.

Traveling with Essential Oils

My travel kit of essential oils is our go-to resource for many things when we are on the road. We use a few small diffusers when we're traveling - one that plugs into the vent in our car and a battery-operated travel-sized evaporative diffuser that's nice to run for a few minutes before bed. And, of course, my oils - for digestion issues, jet lag, headaches, etc. - all those travel related issues can benefit from a little oil.

Travel Size Essential Oil Diffuser

Diffusing essential oils is one of our go-to methods and I don't like to give that up -- even when we're traveling. That's when a travel size essential oil diffuser really comes in handy!

When we're home I prefer to use an ultrasonic diffuser but traveling sometimes requires a travel diffuser that's a little easier to manage. Here are a few I like to have:

Car Diffuser - if you're low-tech a cotton ball and clothespin work well as a car diffuser (add a few drops of essential oil to the cotton ball and use the clothespin to secure the cotton ball near the car vent). If you want something a little more high-tech this car diffuser is pretty cool.

Fan Diffuser - perfect for your hotel stay, a fan diffuser helps disperse essential oils into the air making the space smell a little more like home.

Flying with Essential Oils

No need to leave your oils home if you're flying. You can pack them in your luggage or take them in a carry-on. The only rule you need to remember for carry-on purposes is that each bottle must be less than 3.5 oz (most essential oil bottles are much smaller at just 5 or 15 ml) and they must all fit in a quart-sized zip-top plastic bag.
