Now that I’ve entered my forties (yikes, where did the time go!?!)
I’ve started noticing different things I’ve never had to deal with when I was younger – thinning hair, headaches, mood swings, dry skin, the list goes on…
I’ve been trying a few different things to balance things out. And, since we’ve been using essential oils for other things, I started to take some time to research how they could help support a healthy body.
The Best Essential Oils for Women’s Health
These six oils and blends are good choices for women looking to support their health. I’ve used a few and have plans to add more to my collection of essential oils for personal care. Here are the 6 essential oils for women that I love (there are affiliate links below!):

Feminine Aid Essential Oil Blend has a sweet, floral scent that can help balance your emotions as well as support the endocrine system. Use it as a massage oil to ease cramps. It contains a blend of Vetiver, Clary Sage, Sandalwood, Neroli, Bergamot, Petitgrain Bigarade, Cinnamon Bark, Lemon, & Orange in Fractionated Coconut Oil.
Clary Sage is on my monthly shopping list for April. It contains natural phytoestrogen and will support women through PMS symptoms. Just apply it daily to your ankles – the Vita Flex points for the ovaries and uterus.
Lymph Support is an oil blend that I’ve recently added to my collection to support my lymphatic system. This blend includes: Spearmint, Myrtle, Sage, Nutmeg, Geranium, Myrrh, German Chamomile, & Fractionated Coconut Oil.
This blend of Vitex Berry has a floral aroma that can balance and stabilize your mood and support healthy hormone levels. Try using it in a massage oil to ease cramps experienced during your menstrual cycle.
If you’re not ready to jump into trying different blends, lavender is a great oil that can also help support women’s health. It’s a wonderful all-purpose oil and is a good place to start.
Ylang Ylang helps support hormone balance and emotions. Diffusing or applying a drop of Ylang Ylang over your heart helps with emotional balance and peace.
Applying Essential Oils
Now that you know more about the best essential oils for women’s health, let’s chat for a bit about how, when, and where to apply them.
The first step is dilution!
for everyday use – start with a 2-3% dilution (2-3 drops of essential oil to 1 teaspoon carrier oil)
for short term use – start with a 5% dilution (5 drops of essential oil to 1 teaspoon carrier oil)
If the essential oil you are using is one you apply on a regular basis (for example, a blend that you use daily for lymph support), stick with a 2-3% dilution. If it’s only used occasionally (for example, menstrual cramps) start with a 5% dilution. If that doesn’t do the trick try a higher dilution or add a warm compress.

Where to Apply
There are plenty of options for applying these types of oils.
Right at location
Ankles – the Vita Flex points for the ovaries and uterus
Neck – for lymph support
Basically, apply the oil where it is most beneficial – with these types of issues that usually means right at the location. As with any oils, dilute them and try to rotate the oils you use so you don’t overuse and create a sensitivity to overuse.
